Charity Knnit

Tonight is our fist Charity Knit.  Paul and Claudia will meet you at Main Street Yarn from 6:00 to 8:00.  Bring a project of your choice or we have a hat pattern you can knit for the patients at Children's Hospital.  If you want to bring yarn for your project, there is no yarn requirement.
It has been told to me that when hats get delivered to the hospital, they spend very little time on the shelves.  They are in need for these hats.  A hat you can knit that will mean something to the children and their parents.
The pattern can easily be adjusted so you can bring any yarn, just bring needles that are appropriate to use with the yarn.  If you are not bringing yarn and want to use the donated yarn we have here, bring a size 7 needle.  If you would rather purchase yarn, the yarn for the projects will be discounted 10%.
This hat is knit flat so there are no double pointed needles required.  Any level of knitter can make these hats.
There are lots of worthy charities out there, so bring ideas.
Refreshments are provided.

Last night at the Seattle Knitter's Guild, I saw a talk by J.C. Briar  jcbriar.com.  She has put out a book on chart reading and her talk was terrific!  One of her references and favorite books is this one, Knitting Patterns  Book 250.  It is in Japanese but the charts make it accessible for those of us fluent in other languages.  Give me a call if you are interested in the book, I'm going to try to order some soon!
